Batman Vs. Superman Said To Film In Illinois In May: No Metropolis or Smallville?
With no official production date as of yet announced for Batman Vs. Superman, we've been having to rely on unofficial reports when filming is set to begin.
The latest has Batman Vs. Superman filming in Illinois in mid-May, according to the Chicago Tribune.
It's said filming will take place outside of Yorkville on Route 126 as Warner Bros. has reconstructed the Kent Farm house.
It looks as if Smallville won't come into play that much or possibly even Metropolis as it's reported Batman Vs. Superman may not be filming in Plano, Illinois (Smallville Man of Steel scenes) and downtown Chicago (Metropolis Man of Steel location).
It's noted a majority of filming will take place in Michigan, thought to be the filming location for Batman and Gotham City.
Of course, Snyder could always film the Metropolis scenes in Detroit as well.
The report also notes that filming in Yorkville for Batman Vs. Superman was originally set to begin in February, but has been delayed multiple times.
The May film date fits in with what Wonder Woman Gal Gadot previously stated as she said she begins filming in May as well.
Plano, Illinois was the scene of the epic "Battle of Smallville" in Man of Steel that pitted Superman against Faora and the Kryptonians.
"Batman Vs Superman" has a newly announced May 6, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane and Jeremy Irons.
