Batman Vs. Superman Getting A Complete Rewrite?
Back in mid-December, it was announced that Chris Terrio would be coming on board Batman Vs. Superman to do rewrites based on the original David S. Goyer Man of Steel sequel script.
Chris Terrio happens to be the Oscar-winning screenwriter for Ben Affleck's Argo, and now a new rumor is stating that the Chris Terrio rewrite will be more than previously thought.
Bear in mind it's coming from Batman On Film who came up with the Wonder Woman from Krypton speculation (which I've been told is complete nonsense and BS), but in their report that mentions a photo shoot might be taking place with the new Batmobile, it's mentioned that everything preceding Terrio coming on board has likely been scrapped except the look of the new Batsuit and Batmobile.
They also mentioned the LA shoot featuring the Smallville vs. Gotham football teams has likely been scrapped as well.
It's also stated that filming looks to begin in March (finally), which is what I've also been told by my DC Entertainment source.
The news of a complete rewrite by Chris Terrio isn't all that surprising, as I just mentioned all the changes seemingly taking place in Batman Vs. Superman with the inclusion of Wonder Woman, the Justice League characters and Geoff Johns now on as executive producer. It's thought David Goyer's initial Man of Steel sequel was a standalone Superman movie, but then things changed and Batman was added. Now it appears Terrio is being brought on board to further usher in the Justice League.
Regarding the involvement of Geoff Johns, if you recall my DC Entertainment source said he was working with Zack Snyder and Goyer, and then we saw the trio were behind the Man of Steel/Supergirl prequel comic book. Now that we see Johns has also been added as executive producer on Batman Vs. Superman (Johns also happens to write the Justice League comic book), my DC Entertainment source again tells me Snyder, Goyer and Johns are the DC think-tank, and that Johns helped out with the Batman Vs. Superman story and also acted as a go-to-man for help with elaborating the story.
Regarding a complete rewrite for Batman Vs. Superman, last I was told was Chris Terrio is polishing the script.
"Batman Vs Superman" has a newly announced May 6, 2016 release starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane.
