Batman / Superman Movie Is Brilliant Says Mark Millar; Comments On Justice League Movie
Mark Millar, the creator behind the likes of Kick-Ass as well as the Marvel consultant for Fox Studios, recently participated in an online QnA where he answered questions on all sorts of subjects which include the Batman/Superman Man of Steel sequel.
Previously, Millar made comments regarding Aquaman, in that it would be difficult to translate on the big screen, and now we hear some more of the same as well as that the Batman/Superman movie is a brilliant idea.
"No, not at all; I actually think it’s a brilliant idea," Millar responded when asked if DC is pushing ahead too early regarding Batman/Superman. "Justice League would have been a really weird move for them. Could you imagine doing The Avengers without doing Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America and everything beforehand?"
"The Martian Manhunter comes from Mars, with Wonder Woman you have to explain the Paradise Islands populated by Amazons, the Green Lantern you’ll have to reintroduce because nobody saw the first film *laughs* and then there’s the Flash, and Aquaman and the undersea kingdom of Atlantis – how on earth do you possibly explain that?" Millar continued.
Millar finishes with mention that essentially a Batman/Superman team up is a good idea because it would perform the same as a Justice League movie.
"I actually don’t think that a Justice League movie would have done any more business than Superman Vs Batman," Millar said. "At the moment, nobody really cares about those other characters anyway yet."
