Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2: Lost's Michael Emerson Is The Joker
September 25th sees the highly anticipated debut of the animated movie, The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1.
Part 2 comes out next year and we learn Michael Emerson (Ben Linus of Lost) will be voicing the Joker.
"He's one of those great villains that an actor like me likes to play because he has layers — he has a face for the world and a face for himself," Emerson told TV Guide about the Joker. "He is, in a way, a villain who is a natural actor. All of that is that is delightful and confounding at the same time."
Emerson also comments on the uncontrollable nature that comes with being the Joker.
"It's freeing because of the largeness of it. When he laughs, there's nothing subdued about it. When he screams in rage, there's nothing controlled about it. The amp is turned to 11 at all times," he said.
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1, the next entry in the popular, ongoing series of DC Universe Animated Original Movies, is produced by Warner Premiere, DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. Animation. The all-new, PG-13 rated film arrives September 25, 2012 from Warner Home Video as a Blu-rayâ„¢ Combo Pack and DVD, On Demand and for Download. The Blu-rayâ„¢ Combo Pack will include UltraVioletâ„¢.
