Axel Alonso Hints At Star Wars Comic Books To Marvel

Body

It's all but a given that with the Disney aquisition of Lucasfilm that the Star Wars brand of comic books will be making their way from their current home at Dark Horse - which just saw a sell out first issue - to Marvel Comics.

In his latest column at their partner CBR, EIC Axel Alonso teases a bit that Star Wars is heading to Marvel.

CBR: Another hot topic now is Star Wars. LucasFilm's absorption into Disney is underway now. Any comment on the possibility of Marvel doing something with those characters in a few years as rumored?

Alonso: No comment. But would it shock you if I told you there are a lot of "Star Wars" fan up and down these halls?

I wonder who at Marvel are the Star Wars fans as we know barely a handful have any idea about Marvel Cosmic?

And I also wonder if it's just coincidence that CBR asked Marvel this after Dark Horse released a couple positive press releases about their Star Wars comic books today, and one exclusively to CBR to boot.

Who knows, though? Maybe it will sell better than their current stuff.
