The Avengers (2012): Iron Man's Suit To Be Auctioned Off For Charity In India

With Marvel and Disney Studios premiering The Avengers movie a week before the U.S release on April 27th, not only will Scarlett Johansson be on hand to promote the movie, but Iron Man's armor will be auctioned off for charity in India as well.

A source tells India's that the suit will be auctioned off before the premiere of the movie and "will take place in either Delhi or Mumbai." It is hoped that the auction coincides with Johansson's visit between April 19th and 25th.

It is not known what the Iron Man armor will go for or the starting bid amount.

And before you ask, I'm also not sure why India is getting first dibs on the premiere, let alone the armor.

Anyone have a clue (other than the obvious population difference)?

The Avengers assembles May 4th, 2012 and is directed by Joss Whedon, starring Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye.
