The Avengers (2012): Hiddleston Hints At Mind Controlled Hulk; Battle With Cap

The Avengers Movie: Loki

We already know that Loki is set to go one on one with the Green one come this May in The Avengers movie.

Previously, Tom Hiddleston, the actor portraying the half-brother to Thor, mentioned that he hurt his elbow while filming the battle with Mark Ruffalo's Incredible Hulk.

Now, Hiddleston offers more details in the latest issue of Total Film, with comments on battling Captain America as well.

As fans of the Hulk will know, when scientist Bruce Banner is transformed into the green-skinned behemoth, his strength is vastly increased, while his intellect becomes that of a child (at times). While Loki is no match physically for the Hulk, he is more than a match when it comes to playing tricks that the god of mischief is known for.

Regarding Cap, Hiddleston points out that Steve Rogers is just a man after all.

Check it out:

I had huge fun with Chris Evans, as Captain America, because super-soldier though he may be, he’s still a man, up against a God who in his own mind is infinitely superior. Then, in the ring with The Hulk, we’ve got this silver tongued, lightening quick mind up against the embodiment of rage..Loki has this mercurial, transformative ability, not just physically but intellectually, so not all the fights are purely physical. Mind games? Maybe..

Obviously, regarding the Hulk, this could lead in to the rumored Avengers Vs. Hulk battle that might be seen early in the movie. However, this begs the question: How will Banner stop Loki from playing further mind games thereafter?!

The Avengers assembles May 4th, 2012 and is directed by Joss Whedon, starring Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow and Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye.
