You can definitely call the Amazing Spider-Man movie a success as it is currently on track to bring in $800 million worldwide.

So far the Mark Webb-directed Spidey flick has brought in $400 million, with about $160 million of that domestically.

THR notes that this amount brings the Amazing Spider-Man movie in close proximity to Sam Raimi's previous franchise, which saw around a billion each (today's dollars).

And Sony has already let it be known that the Amazing Spider-Man is the first of a trilogy, with the second already being written.

CBN's own movie reviewer, Lawrence Napoli, called the movie a success as well with, "Make no mistake. The Spider-Man reboot is a win."

The Amazing Spider-Man swings into theaters July 3rd, 2012 in 3-D and is directed by Marc Webb starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard, Irrfan Khan as Nels Van Adder, Martin Sheen as Ben Parker, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, Sally Field as May Parker and C. Thomas Howell as Ray Cooper.
