The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) Has A Sequel written by James Vanderbilt

picAmazing Spider-Man, starring Andrew Garfield as the web-crawler, hasn't even come out yet, let alone finished shooting, and a sequel is already in the works.

The Hollywood Reporter informs us that the writer on Amazing, James Vanderbilt, returns to pen the sequel.

Studio execs approved Vanderbilt's take on the sequel and gave the writer the green light.

THR notes that Vanderbilt was brought on for Spider-Man 4, when that was still in the works, and brought him back for the reboot as they liked his take on that, as well.

Vanderbilt also penned Zodiac and the recent reboot of Total Recall.

The Amazing Spider-Man swings into theaters in 3-D and is directed by Marc Webb starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors/The Lizard, Irrfan Khan as Nels Van Adder, Martin Sheen as Ben Parker, Denis Leary as Captain George Stacy, Sally Field as May Parker and C. Thomas Howell as Ray Cooper.
