Advanced Review: Aquaman #2 (Johns, Reis & Prado)
Out of the depths of the oceans rises a vicious pool of monsters seeking to feast their razor sharp teeth upon the unsuspecting land-dwellers above!
With their sites targeted on a small fishing town of men, women and children, the denizens from the deep seek to satiate an apparent unsatisfiable hunger!
As the creatures make their way through their choice of food, a call for help is sent out, which is answered by none other than -- Aquaman!
Geoff Johns, Ivan Reis and Joe Prado have done it again! Once the butt end of jokes in comic shops everywhere, Aquaman has now become the super hero of choice! My super hero of choice! Johns give us a very relatable character, a character that we can root for -- a character that we want to be!
The art is just as -- if not more than -- spectacular. Aquaman stands powerful. The creatures look vicious. Mera is hot! Throw this all together and you hold in your hands one stunning issue.
Johns once again continues with the witty remarks directed at Aquaman. Remarks that you find yourself laughing at -- because you think the same; however, Johns give us an Aquaman that is purely awesome and mighty.
If you can find the first issue -- grab it now! If you can't -- read a friends! You are going to want to be onboard for this one as Aquaman has taken his rightful place not only in the New DCU, but all of comicdom!
