The Game of Thrones Season 3 finale drew 5.4 million viewers becoming HBO's second most popular series of all time.

However, the finale numbers were just short of the 5.5 million that tuned in for episode 7 that aired on May 5th with "Climb."

Game of Thrones Season 3 all-together averaged 13.6 million people watching each episode which includes linear plays, HBO On Demand, HBO GO and DVR.

Game of Thrones is second to The Sopranos which averaged around an audience of 14.4 million, reports Deadline.

The Game of Thrones Season 3 finale also broke illegal torrent records with over 1 million downloads in a day and over 170,000 simultaneous shares.

Details for Season 4 have already become known with three new characters.
