Warner Bros. announced that the release date for 300: Rise Of An Empire has been pushed back to 2014.

The new release date for 300: Rise Of An Empire is now March 7, 2014, formally August 2, 2013.

No reason is sited, but the new release date seems to be a better date as the 300 sequel/prequel would have gone up against Universal's 2 Guns, another action movie.

The March 7th release pits 300: Rise of an Empire against Fox’s animated pic Mr. Peabody And Sherman.

WB also pushed back the release date for All You Need Is Kill, which stars Tom Cruise, to June 6th 2014, pitting it against Michael Bay's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Synopsis:

The Greek general Themistocles battles an invading army of Persians under the mortal-turned-god, Xerxes.
